To configure the controller you need to add some parameters to tell it what type of Heat Pump you are running.
In the package you should have a code list document, refer to this to find your manufacturer. You will need this information as you go through the instructions below:
Note: Make sure you have added (included) the Remotec device to your Vera Edge. If you have not, please see the previous post.
1. Open the Device Configuration from the Vera interface
2. Select "Device Options"
3. Click "Add configuration settings"
4. In the Variable filed add the value "27"
5. Change the Data Size to "2 byte dec"
6. Add the value for your Heat Pump.
Note: – use the code book and use the first number in the set by your manufacturer. Complete these instructions, wait a minute and then test functions from the Vera interface. If they do not all function as expected change this number to the next one in the list. Repeat until this works.
7. Click "Save Changes"
8. Return to the main Devices screen and locate the Heat Pump control
9. Test the controls by selecting "Heat" - check that your Heat Pump has turned on.
10. Repeat for each control.
Note that sometimes it takes a few minutes for the code to update when initially setting the values. If you get any failed messages wait a bit and then try again. The interface should tell you if it is still not working as expected. Try one of the other codes.
It is possible to manually program the device for your Heat Pump. Instructions for this are included in the user manual. This is a time consuming process and only recommended for experienced users. Most Heat Pump units will be functional from the list provided without manual programming.
